Healing Takes More Than One Kind of Care
The Ukandu Integrated Health Center offers behavioral health services and mental and emotional wellness designed around the real needs of families.
Our comprehensive model addresses the whole family. Whether it's a child processing fear and uncertainty, a sibling feeling overlooked, or a parent carrying the invisible stress of caregiving, our team meets each person where they are with compassionate, individualized support.
And because we believe healing shouldn't come with a price tag, Ukandu does not charge or bill families for services.

In alignment with Ukandu's mission to support families, the Behavioral Health Care Fund is designed to reduce financial barriers to behavioral health care. Insurance will be billed when available, and Ukandu will pay 100% of patient responsibility (copays, coinsurance, deductibles) through its designated Behavioral Health Care Fund.
We ask that all intake paperwork be completed prior to your first appointment. This allows us to use our time together more effectively, and we will review key information from your paperwork during the session. The initial appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. It allows us to learn about you, your current concerns, and your goals, while also giving you the chance to determine whether your clinician is the right fit as your therapist. We will begin by reviewing important aspects of therapy, including confidentiality, its limits, and relevant office policies. The majority of the session will focus on discussing your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This comprehensive intake process helps inform initial diagnostic impressions and allows me to offer preliminary recommendations and potential treatment options, which will be discussed with you during the appointment. If we mutually decide to move forward, we will conclude by answering any questions you may have and outlining next steps. If it seems that a different provider or approach would better meet your needs, we are happy to assist with appropriate referrals.
Please use the request services form on this website. You may also call (503) 563-1431 or speak to a staff member. Please allow 48 business hours for a reply.
Treatment typically occurs on a weekly basis, depending on individual needs and contributing factors. Each session lasts approximately 55 minutes. As patients begin to apply strategies and concepts discussed in therapy, some may choose to reduce the frequency of sessions over time. The frequency of treatment is not fixed and will be discussed regularly throughout the course of care. Decisions regarding scheduling and session frequency will be made collaboratively between the patient and provider based on clinical needs, progress, and goals.
For some individuals, therapy may be brief, lasting approximately 5–10 sessions. However, for many patients who have experienced concerns over an extended period of time, treatment may continue for a longer duration. As with session frequency, the overall length of treatment will be discussed on an ongoing basis and determined collaboratively between the patient and provider. Treatment duration will be guided by clinical progress, individual goals, and the patient’s evolving needs.
A Single Session Intervention (SSI) is a focused, structured therapeutic meeting designed to address a specific concern in one appointment, rather than beginning an ongoing course of therapy.
SSIs are based on the idea that a single meaningful conversation can sometimes be enough to clarify a problem, build coping strategies, or identify next steps. During the session, the therapist and patient work collaboratively to define the most pressing issue, explore possible solutions, and identify practical tools or resources that can be used immediately. While SSIs can stand alone, they can also serve as a starting point for additional care if needed. Some individuals find that one session provides sufficient support, while others choose to continue with ongoing therapy for more in-depth work. The goal of a Single Session Intervention is to provide timely, accessible, and effective support that meets the patient where they are at that moment.

This allows the appointment time to be made available to other patients in need of services. We understand that unexpected circumstances arise, and we will work with you to reschedule when needed. Cancellations, missed appointments, or changes in scheduling will be addressed collaboratively on a case-by-case basis with your provider. Our goal is to support consistent access to care while maintaining flexibility in response to individual needs and circumstances.
