In 2026, Ukandu celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 40 years of creating hope, joy, and belonging for families facing childhood cancer.

For four decades, Ukandu has been a place where kids can just be kids again, where siblings feel seen, where parents exhale, and where no family walks this journey alone. What began as a bold vision for a summertime experience has grown into a vibrant, year-round community rooted in connection and resilience. And as we mark our 40th year, we’re doing more than honoring our history - we’re investing boldly in the future of every family who will need us next.

We’re thrilled to announce Wine & Dine for Hope & Joy 2026 - our signature annual fundraising event and one of Portland’s most meaningful culinary celebrations. Join us on Friday, May 8, from 5–9 p.m. at The Redd on Salmon for an evening that blends top-tier food and wine with extraordinary impact. Wine & Dine is more than a tasting event - it’s a firsthand experience of what it means to be part of the Ukandu community. Guests hear powerful stories of resilience and healing while connecting directly with some of Portland’s most celebrated chefs and winemakers. With 30+ tasting booths, live entertainment, and moments of meaningful connection throughout the night, this event captures what makes so many proudly call us their “Ukandu Family.”
