Dear Brothers & friends,

Blessings on you & your loved ones. I hope you & your family are in the best of health.

In regards to this letter, I would like to ask for your prayers & to inform you of what great things God is doing in the new church. This church we have started in the city of Arteaga, Coah.

In August 2009, we have started having services every Sunday at 11:00a & every Wednesday we have visitation with people who have attended. Actually we have around 50 people attending regularly, including young married couples with their families.

In the month of June we have called it, the month of Missions. We are encouraging the congregation to pray & start working on a mission trip with the help of God we shall make this year.

I am very excited for the opportunity that God has given the Hispanics to start this ministry. The violence has grown in Mexico, a lot of the groups from the United States have cancelled their visit to us & much work has been dismissed. Who will do this work? I think the people from Mexico can & should help even though it is a lot of hard work but I know that God will help us. Our small church in these last few years have gone to the mountains of Chihuahua where the people Raramuri & Tarahumaras have also been included with a group of 15 teenagers. We have worked very hard in different ways with adults & children. We are in the process of starting a second trip to San Luis, Potosi to help a small church who are very poor & we are going to do small tasks such as painting, cleaning, etc.

Our needs & prayers are as follows: Every trip that we make we have to rent a 15 passenger van that costs $12,000 mil pesos. We have in the past rented a van for 6 years (8 trips) & looking back that’s a lot of money. So we have decided to buy a van with the help of God, we ask for your prayers for this necessity as we will need it for the last days of July when we will be making this trip. Let us pray.

We also are in need of clothes, shoes, toys for the children, bedspreads & a lot of good wishes & prayers with the help of God everything will be fine. Thank you for your time & that God may bless you & we hope to see you soon in Mexico.

My family & myself appreciate your interest in our work. Blessings!

Juan Cortez
